The night predator

I have a huge appetite and large, sharp teeth. Since I’m a night predator, I stay in deep water during the day and swim up to the surface to feed at night.

It depends on my age. Younger hake eat medium-sized fish and cephalopods like squids, while adults show cannibalistic behavior.

Mediterranean Sea, North Sea and Eastern Atlantic Ocean between Iceland and Mauritania.

At least 30 cm.
